Calligra/Category:Usecase Calligra/Category:KWord Usecase / design / information about master documents

Short Introduction

A master document is a document that uses other documents for most content and defines global markup.

Usecase

A team of 6 people is in charge of writing guidelines for use in Achme corp. Each guideline is between 2 and 4 pages of text with images and tables in between. The number of guidelines is quite substantial and are best maintained as separate documents.

Gerda will combine the different guideline documents into a guidebook that is specific for each department. The guidebook will have a frontpage, a table of contents and an index page as well as continues numbering. Each guideline that is relevant for the department is included in the guidebook by pointing KWord to the original guidelines.

The guidebook is also known as a Master Document and defines the markup styles, headers and footers of the whole document.
