Kaidan

Sponsor: Bhushan Shah

Kaidan is a simple, user-friendly Jabber/XMPP client providing a modern user-interface using Kirigami and QtQuick. The back-end of Kaidan is entirely written in C++ using the qxmpp XMPP client library and Qt 5.

Manifesto Compliance Plan

List the actions planned to get in compliance with the manifesto.

Values

Open Governance

Apart from our Jabber/XMPP groupchat and the bridged Telegram group we probably still need an Matrix/IRC channel (bridged) for all KDE developers.

Free Software

Users have the freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change and improve the software. - from http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html

Kaidan have a GPL-3.0 license along with the, CC-BY-SA-4.0 for artwork.

Inclusivity

We welcome all contributors.

Innovation

We want to develop a modern IM client that has no performance issues. We use automated builds (for all different platforms).

Common Ownership

Anyone can contribute directly. Code will be hosted on the KDE's Gitlab instance.

End-User Focus

Everyone from average user to expert. KDE software for all.
