Panel State Test

This is one of the base test scenarios for Plasma Test Days 2016, check out that main page on how to be a part of that.

Description

The panels in Plasma are extremely flexible, but with that flexibility comes to constant risk of regressions. Specificly certain features like hiding the panel using settings like "Autohide" or "Windows Can Cover". This test is to ensure the quality of those features

Preparation Steps

  1. Boot any of the Test Day ISOs and log into Plasma
  2. Unlock the desktop by rightclicking and choose "unlock widgets"

Test Steps

  1. Click in the panels burger menu and choose "more settings"
  2. From that list select "Autohide" under "Visibility"
  3. Return back to the desktop by clicking on it.

Test Checklist

  1. When your mouse cursor moves away from the panel, does it hide away?
  2. How did the visuals of that hiding feel? Did it stutter?
  3. When you move your mouse to the screen edge of the panel, does it reappear?
  4. Can you comfortably interact with the widgets on the panel or did you feel that it hid too fast or unexpectantly?
