Problems when migrating from 3.x to 4.x

• missing keys (no longer present in 4.x)
• renamed keys (actions in 4.x having a different name than in 3.x)
• no documentation of such changes
• Alex will be looking into generating a list of currently used keys from KConfigXT files
• Michael has a list of issues:
  • Some config files used by KDE applications not under Kiosk control (e.g. $HOME/.config/Trolltech.conf)
  • KRunner finding applications that are not in the user menus (e.g. Yast)
  • shell_access does not prevent embedded terminal in Konqueror
  • KRunner completing on executables even if shell_access is set to false
• Michael can provide KIOSK profile files that work on 3.x but don't on 4.x

Concerns regarding KDE Frameworks 5

• Kiosk integration from KAction: how to do with QAction (assuming KAction will be dropped)

Documentation

• generic documentation for Kiosk 3.x still (mostly) valid
• special wiki pages for some products (Plasma has one on techbase?)
• need documentation for things that change between versions
• might be feasible to have automated tools to take care of some of these changes
