Infrastructure/Jabber

KDE provides Jabber services through the KDETalk.net service. Jabber (also known as XMPP) is a federated protocol for Instant Messaging, and supports both one-to-one as well as group chats.

Registration

All contributors are free to register a kdetalk.net address through their Jabber client of choice, and no interaction with the sysadmins is needed. You can use kdetalk.net as hostname. Your address will end up like [email protected]t.

Those contributors who currently hold a kde.org email address may request a [email protected] Jabber account by filing a ticket. We will create an account for you, and we will assign a random password. If you have working email encryption, be sure to mention the details in the ticket so we can send it encrypted to you.
