Once the packages are made available (provided you have the requisite resources and configuration), you'll be able to jump into a beautiful, functional desktop experience. So give it a whirl; if you liked KDE 4.3, you'll love KDE 4.4. If you didn't, then let this release try to convince you.

KDE 4.4 will undergo its beta freeze near the end of November, and by the first of December, KDE 4.4 beta 1 will be ready for testing. If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of the desktop environment at this time, or find bugs and glitches with any KDE-associated software, report them to us and they will be addressed. We pledge to make KDE 4.4 as high-quality as possible.
