Panel Height Test

Description

In Plasma the user have absolute control and right to define his or her preferences. One such preference is panel width. As the panel contain several widgets this test is to ensure that those same widgets follow the panels size and are usable, beautiful and understandable no matter what the size of the panel.

Preparation Steps

  1. Boot any of the Test Day ISOs (<- link to ISO instructions for good measure) and log into Plasma
  2. Add default panel if it is not there already

Test Steps

  1. Click on hamburger icon in the panel
  2. From the panel controller select "Height" option and shrink panel to bare minimum
  3. Do test 1-3 below
  4. Change panel width/height according to your choice
  5. Restart plasmashell using "kquitapp5 plasmashell; plasmashell"
  6. Do test 4 below

Test Checklist

  1. What is minimum width you were able to shrink panel?
  2. Is it sensible minimum size for your screen and DPI?
  3. After shrinking down panel, does other windows maximize properly?
  4. Is Panel width same before restarting plasmashell?
