Locked Widget Test

Description

In Plasma one of the main features is that of locking and unlocking the shell to ensure that all the available changes do not occur by mistake. This locking and unlocking needs to work in a predictable fashion to ensure that it doesn't become a hindrance or an annoyance for the user. With that comes the idea that if your shell is shut down and restarted in a locked state, this locked state must persist and vice versa for an unlocked desktop.

Preparation Steps

  1. Boot any of the Test Day ISOs and log into Plasma

Test Steps

  1. Right click on desktop
  2. Select Lock Widgets from menu
  3. Do tests 1-3 below
  4. Unlock widgets
  5. Restart plasmashell using "kquitapp5 plasmashell; plasmashell" in a terminal
  6. Do test 4 below

Test Checklist

  1. Hamburger icon in the Panel is not visible
  2. Desktop toolbox doesn't show Add Widgets entry
  3. Right click menu doesn't show Add Widgets entry
  4. In Desktop settings dialog, Layout combobox is disabled
  5. Is desktop still in Locked state? or Unlocked now?
