The Desktop and how to get users find out about our apps

Problem

How to have an easy to use non-too-KDE-specific Edu desktop? - kickoff = a nightmare - plasma activity: Educational Activity: teachers will create it and it'll run as a desktop (Aleix will ask Aaron about it)

People do not know what they have as apps. There could be an easily configurable interface to set up this activity - application data in Ubuntu: app store

Solutions - a plasmoid with names, descriptions (not generic name but more), a screenshot - personal learning desktop: your desktop within the desktop - have a framework "à la GCompris"

No real solution or suggestion came up.
