Amarok comes standard with Kubuntu, it's already installed!!! Contents 1 Installing on other Ubuntu variants 2 Amarok 2.7 3 Phonon Backends 3.1 VLC backend Installing on other Ubuntu variants To install on other Ubuntu variants, find Amarok in the Software Centre or use the following command: sudo apt-get install amarok Amarok 2.7 Packages for the release of Amarok 2.7 are available for Kubuntu 12.10 and Raring. Run the following commands: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade Phonon Backends VLC and GStreamer are all available as Phonon backends in Kubuntu.
