December 14, 2003: New page "third party software"
Quite a lot of third party software for the KDE PIM suite is available on the Internet. Some of these tools are listed on our new page third party software. If you feel that your favourite PIM tool is missing in this list, please let us know. Thank you.
December 13, 2003: New mailinglist kdepim-users available
A new mailing list kdepim-users for discussion about the usage of the KDE PIM applications (Kontact, KAddressBook, KMail, KOrganizer and everything else in the kdepim CVS module) has been created. Users who want to help with user support for the KDE PIM applications are very welcome to the new mailinglist. Your help is very much appreciated by the developers.

September 20, 2003: New on pim.kde.org: KonsoleKalendar
Allen D. Winter wrote in, wondering if KonsoleKalendar should have a section on pim.kde.org - so here we present a new page on pim.kde.org: KonsoleKalendar, a command line interface to KDE calendars. KonsoleKalendar lets you view, insert, remove, or modify calendar events by way of the command line or from a scripting language. Additionally, KonsoleKalendar can export a KDE calendar to a variety of other formats.
September 16, 2003: KDE 3.1.4 released
On September 16th 2003, the KDE Project released KDE 3.1.4, including KDE-PIM. KDE 3.1.4 is the fourth maintenance release of the KDE 3.1 release series and it features many problem corrections. Changes and bugfixes in the KDE-PIM suite are:
- kpilot: Fix Bug 50560: address not synced correct with new address information
- kpilot: Fix Bug 60659: Always using at least one of the addresses from kaddressbook
- kpilot: Fix Bug 60691: KPilot vcal conduit changes day when syncing repeating events
- kpilot: fix errors in build system.

August 30, 2003: Preview of KAddressbook 3.2
As preview for the upcoming KAddressbook 3.2 which will be shipped with KDE 3.2 later this year, we have some screenshots here taken from the CVS version of KAddressbook.
August 22-30, 2003: KDE Contributor Conference 2003
The KDE Contributor Conference 2003 at Nové Hrady was a big success. There was a talk by Daniel Molkentin on KDE Kontact, read his homework here (text file) and the presentation here (in KPresenter format). Checkout the impressive schedule for more interesting presentations.
August 7, 2003: New Kolab project page on pim.kde.org
We have a new page on pim.kde.org introducing the Kolab project. The goal of the Kolab Project is to maintain and enhance a Free Software groupware solution called Kolab. It builds on software and concepts developed during the Kroupware Project, in particular the Kolab Server and KDE Kroupware Client.
July 29, 2003: KDE 3.1.3 released
On July, 29 2003, the KDE Project released KDE 3.1.3, including KDE-PIM. KDE 3.1.3 is the third maintenance release of the KDE 3.1 release series and it features many problem corrections. Changes and bugfixes in the KDE-PIM suite are:
- korganizer: fix french and czech holidays (Dirk Mueller)
- kaddressbook: Fix bug #60518
- kdateedit: Fix bug #57465
- kpilot: crash fixes
- kalarmd: crash fix
- knotes: Fix bug #58658
- build fixes

July 25, 2003: Kroupware Project finished -- Kolab emerges
The three companies behind the Kroupware Project (Erfrakon, Intevation and Klarälvdalens Datakonsult) announced its successful completion today. This new groupware approach using only Free Software is now available in stable versions under the Kolab brand name. Commercial support on an individual basis is already offered with further support options to come. The Kolab system offers common asynchronous groupware functions such as email, group calendaring, notes and tasks. Stable releases of the software can be downloaded from the website. May 13, 2003: Screenshots and website updated
Today new screenshots (1, 2, 3, 4) from the CVS Version were uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Please note that you will only get this from CVS, which in turn requires installing KDE HEAD. There is no new separate release at the moment.
March 1, 2003: KDE Kontact 0.2.1 released
A new release of KDE Kontact containing an upgraded KMail component is now available. The KMail message composer now supports as-you-type spell checking and color quoting thanks to the generous folks at Trolltech. Also numerous annoyances have been fixed and the KMail system tray applet is now functional. This is another stable but feature incomplete release, get it here.

January 28, 2003: KDE 3.1 Released
On January 28th 2003, the KDE Project released KDE 3.1, a major feature upgrade to the successful KDE 3.0 series. January 19, 2003: Kroupware/Kaplan hackfest in Osnabrück
From January 3rd to 5th 2003, KDE-PIM developers met in Osnabrück (Germany) to discuss about and hack on the KDE-PIM application family. First reports about the hackfest are available here, some more reports plus a group photo will follow soon.
December 25, 2002: KDE Kontact 0.1 released
A working prototype of KDE Kontact, a personal information management application for KDE that integrates the KMail, KAddressbook, KOrganizer (and in the future other applications) is now available. KDE Kontact builds on the work of many people including the KDE PIM contributors. Feedback is welcome.
