There will be tutorials on IRC and Google Hangout to help you get involved in KDE. This is an event for women and their friends.
Every year the celebrate internationally Ada Lovelace Day. This date refers, above all, the great of programming Ada Byron, born in Engalnd, in the nineteenth-century. Ada, for those who do not already know, was a self-taught math responsible for creating the first computer program ever known in the world, algorithms for calculations used in the analytical engine of Charles Babage. She entered the history of computing as being the first computer programmer ever heard.
This date also serves to celebrate the achievements of Ada is also used to discover and encourage other Adas around the world to engage with technology and science. This year, Ada Lovelace Day will take place on October 16th and KDE decided to celebrate this date promoting some activities to integrate more people, especially women, but not only them, to our community. The idea is we promote some tutorials via IRC - #kde-tutorials - or Google Hangout on some KDE tools and how to get involved with the community.
