Containment Switching Test
This is one of the base test scenarios for Plasma Test Days 2016, check out that main page on how to be a part of that.
Description
Plasma has two different desktop containers by default: desktop and folder view. They each have different properties and uses and each one has fans among Plasma users. The goal with this test is to ensure that the switching between the two stages works gracefully and without any glitches.
Preparation steps
- Boot any of the Test Day ISOs and log into Plasma
Test steps
- Right click on desktop and select "Add Widget" and select the Notes applet [screenshot of the Notes applet in list]
- Write some content on the note applet. Do not lock widgets.
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Desktop Settings"
- In the combo box at the top of this window, select "Folder View" and press Apply
Test checklist
- Does it switch correctly?
- Does it still show your notes applet with the correct text and widget placement?
- Try to restart Plasmashell using "kquitapp5 plasmashell; plasmashell"
- Does it still show your notes applet in the correct position?
