| |
|
| Plasma Active is intended for wireless operation, so one of the first things to do is activate a wireless connection. Start by touching the wireless icon in the task bar at the top of the screen.
| |
|
| |
| The task bar pulls down part way to reveal running apps. Default apps are revealed with the task bar pulled down fully.
| |
|
| |
| Set the device time and other functions with the Setup app.
| |
|
| |
| Additional apps can be installed with Konsole using the zypper system. Installation must be done as root (su to become root; root password is mer). Dolphin (zypper in dolphin) is an effective file manager with fairly good touch capabilities.
| |
|
| |
| ownCloud is an excellent personal cloud storage application. If an owncloud remote server has been setup, Plasma Active will synch with it.
| |
| * zypper in owncloud-client
| |
| * launch the Setup app; Synchronization will have been added to the Setup selections. Follow the instructions to connect to the remote server and select the local folder that will be synched.
| |
|
| |
| The onscreen keyboard can be dragged to the top of the screen if it's in the way.
| |
|
| |
| Play around to discover other capabilities of Plasma Active. The video on plasma-active.org provides some ideas about what can be done.
